At BAP, we are always looking for ways to enhance the efficiency of organizers, beer judges and competitors alike. Through our platform, we provide a comprehensive overview of all competition-related processes, ranging from participant registration to judge management, cellar control, entry evaluation, and result disclosure.

We understand that organizing a competition can be as tricky as balancing a flight of entries, and we want you to focus on what matters most to you. That's why we're constantly brewing up improvements to our platform. Check out some of the updates we've implemented in recent months:

New "Organizer" Profile:

Organizers now have a specific profile with fewer permissions than the administrator, making it easier to manage committee-specific tasks. This enables administrators to delegate responsibilities to other individuals, assigning the appropriate permissions and ensuring efficiency and organization across various tasks.

  1. On the main menu, go to "SETTINGS" and then click on the "USER ACCESS" option.

  2. You will be directed to a screen with all individuals involved in the organization. To add a new member, simply click on the "ADD USER" button. If the user is registered on BAP, the system will recognize them. Otherwise, they can be added by typing their email address. Once added, a role is defined, which can be:

  • Administrator: The user with the highest level of permissions, which also includes the following two roles.

  • Entries receptionist: Responsible for registering the entries received by reading the QR code and eventually assigning the judgment code if required.

  • Cellar master: Responsible for assigning entries that have already been checked into a panel through the Check Out function.

  • Organizer: Similar to an Administrator but with limited access, particularly regarding financial issues.

  1. Click on "save user" and you're done!

Calibration Round:

This improvement facilitates the objectivity in the session by swiftly providing judges with an overview of their colleagues' evaluations in this round. This feature allows judges to compare their scores with the average scores given by other judges, enriching their evaluation process and promoting consistency in judgment.

The organizer determines whether there will be a calibration round. On the judge's initial screen, there will be a field labeled "CALIBRATION ROUND"; click on it to begin. Once the descriptive fields and scores are filled out, the evaluation is saved, and an analysis of calibration among all judges can be viewed. For further information, click here.

Display entry count on competition website

Now, during the setup of your competition page on our website, there is an option to display how many entry slots are still available. To do this, during the information setup, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the “COMPETITION WEBSITE” option in “SETTINGS”.

  2. Enable the "SHOW NUMBER OF ENTRIES ON PUBLIC PAGE" option.

  3. Complete filling out the information.

  4. Click "SAVE".

Suggest a feature

The platform has introduced a new feature designed to involve the community in its development process. Users now have the opportunity to submit their own suggestions for tools or improvements. If a suggestion receives enough votes, it will be considered for development. This new feature aims to create a collaborative environment, allowing the community to directly influence the platform’s evolution.

  1. On the main menu, click on the lightbulb icon in the sidebar.

  2. Share your ideas and vote on suggestions from other users.

  3. That's it, let's evolve the platform together.

List Control:

Finally, but certainly not least, an awaited (and requested) feature has arrived: participants list control. It's now possible to restrict competition participation exclusively to association members. In this case, you can limit registration to club members by their IDs. To implement this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "PARTICIPANT" menu.

  2. Enable the "RESTRICT VALUES" option.

  3. Input the required identifiers (such as member IDs) into the "Value" field, with one identifier per line.

  4. Once a member signs up, a dedicated field for entering the member ID will appear on the registration form.

Participants who fail to provide a valid member ID or submit an incorrect one during entry registration will be unable to proceed with their orders. Want to see more about this? Click here.

We're committed to continuing to improve our platform to meet the needs of beverages competition organizers. With BAP, you can rely on a tool that simplifies and optimizes the entire process, allowing you to focus on what really matters: the quality of the competition and the participants' experience.
